Product description

The decline in effectiveness of antimicrobials explains the needs for data to inform the public health agenda. It is today not possible to present a full picture of the spread of antibiotic resistance due to the lack of global data. In the present research work phenomenon of antimicrobial resistance in pathogens towards some specific antimicrobial agents and Heavy Metals has been studied with the aspects such as the effects of antimicrobials Cerftazidime and Nalidixic acid, Moxifloxacin and Sulfamethaxazole, Nickel and Lead on the growth of resistant and sensitive Enterobacter species, the pattern of resistance in various isolates of different species of pathogens, Determination of minimum inhibitory concentration of the above antimicrobials against the sensitive Enterobacter and tolerance levels of resistant species, Estimation of Nickel from the cell fractions, Dehydrogenase activity was checked in relation to Heavy metals selected, the presence of beta lactamase enzyme was Investigated. Mechanism of resistance to antibiotics and heavy metals selected was studied. Elimination of the plasmid mediated resistance from the resistant Enterobacter species was carried out.
