The publication Bauhaus Type Action tries to capture collectively new typographies 100 years after László Moholy-Nagy outlined the new typography in his well-known essay Die Neue Typographie (1923). The first part of the book contains type designs and typographic works by students of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar from classes of Jun.-Prof. Stefanie Schwarz between 2019 and 2022. The second part includes texts about new typography from more than 20 designers who share their perspectives and approaches in the field of typography and type design. The aim of the publication is not to create a new manifest but an invitation to everyone to keep questioning what defines type and typography in the past, present and future.
